Multilanguage Website
Purpose
Allows creating a website in more than one language.
Keep in mind that the content can be the same, but with translation. Or you can set different content for each language (for example, have a banner for specific content for a language, that it will not have for the others).
Step by Step
Multilanguage Selector on Header:
1. To activate the Multilanguage Selector, go to Appearance > Settings > Core BR - White Label and select the option "ABInBev - Menu" on the list.
2. In the "Country Language Selector", select "On" and choose where the selector will be displayed.
3. To finish it, click on "Save configuration".
Adding the Languages:
1. To add the chosen languages for your website, go to Configuration > Regional and Language > Languages, and add the languages that you want;
2. Go to the “Detection and Selection” tab on the same page (/admin/config/regional/language/detection
), and check the URL checkbox:
Languages Inside the Dropdown:
1. For the languages to appear inside the dropdown, you need to set them and the flags inside the Country Rules taxonomy;
2. Go to Structure > Taxonomy > Country rules, click on "Add Term", inform a Name and select a Country on the list.
3. On the field “Image”, select an image for upload. If you don’t want to use an image as an icon, you can upload a transparent image, but this field must to filled.
4. Fill the fields of Country Language(s) settings according to the examples:
5. To add other languages, just repeat these steps.
6. To add a label to the Selector, go to Content > Site Settings, search for the ABI Language Selector, click on "edit" and inform a Label text.
Configuring the Translations:
When the user selects another language, he will be redirected to the page with the selected language. To create this page follow the steps below:
1. Go to Content, search for the page that you want to translate, and in the Edit menu, select the option Translate.
2. In the Translations, select the Edit option. You will directed to the Layout canvas
3. In the Canvas, by clicking twice on each component to translate the texts and contents inside of the components.
4. These translates and modifications are only available to the language that you editing.
